- Conference: The 34th Annual Conference of the Japan Association for International Education
- Date: June 28–29, 2025
- Venue: Shinmachi Campus, Imadegawa Campus, Doshisha University
- Presenter: Yukinori Watanabe (Sagami Women’s University)
This presentation provided a broader overview of educational decision-making in Japanese marriage-migrant families across Northeast and Southeast Asia. Drawing on life-story interviews, it showed how language policy, school choice, belonging, and mobility were intertwined in family life. It argued that education in intermarriage families should be understood as a multilayered practice through which families negotiate identity, future options, and social integration across multiple societies.
