This article examines the educational beliefs and parenting practices of Japanese fathers in Japanese-Filipino families living in the Philippines. Focusing on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it shows how financial instability, schooling choices, and family priorities were reconfigured under conditions of uncertainty. The study highlights how decisions about Japanese language education, English education, and future residence became key sites through which fathers and families reorganized everyday life and long-term plans.
